HTV is made by Selny LTD, which is responsible for the data described here.
The short version: your account holds your email and what you choose to sync. Your playlist password is encrypted. Nothing about what you watch is sold or shared with anyone.
What We Hold For Your Account
Your name and email address, so you can sign in.
The playlists you choose to sync — the address, the username, and the password, which is encrypted before it is stored and can only be read back by your own devices.
What you have watched and how far through it, what is in your list, and what you have thumbed up or down. This is what makes the same rows appear on your phone and your television. Viewing history older than about eighteen months is deleted automatically.
The devices you have signed in on, so you can sign one out.
What Leaves Your Device When It Looks Things Up
To show a film's cast, artwork and score, the app asks our server, which asks TMDB and OMDb on your behalf and remembers the answer so nobody has to ask twice.
To do that it has to say which titles it is asking about. A title is sent as its name and year and nothing else — never your provider, never your account, never which of them you watched. Those answers are shared: one person's lookup of a film means the next person's device already has it. We keep a count of how many catalogs have asked about a title, which decides what gets looked up first. That count is not linked to you.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell or rent anything about you. We do not use your viewing to target advertising — there is no advertising. We do not share your history with your provider or with anyone else.
What You Can Do
See and change what you like at any time, or clear it entirely, from the account menu. Delete a profile and everything it holds goes with it. Delete your account from Settings and the whole of the above is removed from our server; what is on your device goes when you uninstall.
Who Else Is Involved
Our server runs on Cloudflare, with its database at PlanetScale. Metadata comes from TMDB and OMDb. Email is sent through Resend. None of them are given your viewing history.
